Gammon Bone in Smoked


Gammon is a versatile cut of pork and a true British favourite. The meat comes from the hind legs of the pig and can be cooked and prepared in a number of ways. When cooked it makes for an excellent ham full of smoky flavour and a pleasant all-rounded taste.

A cut easily recognised, Gammon is the name given to the meat from the hind legs of a pig. The preparation of the meat involves much the same curing process as bacon. It is essentially ‘raw’ ham; whereas¬†ham is sold cooked or dry-cured and ready for eating, gammon needs to be cooked in order to be consumed and sold as gammon ham.
